Rt. Rev. Vincent Kirabo was ordained Bishop Ordinary of Hoima Diocese at Our Lady of Lourdes Bujumbura Cathedral on 28th February 2016 amid joyous and religious celebrations. Religious and political leaders all over the country were present to welcome the new Bishop in his new home.
Hoima Diocese had waited two years without a Bishop since the passing on of the late Bishop Byabazaire in 2014 and the people of Hoima were blessed with a new Bishop in the new year from Pope Francis. Ordination mass was led by Archbishop Paul Bakyenga of Mbarara Diocese in the presence of other notable Bishops like Archbishop of Gulu Archdiocese John Baptist Odama and his Emmenince Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala, Archbishop Emeritus of Kampala.
Bishop Vincent Kirabo was ordained in the presence of a clergy of other Bishops who gave him their blessings and offered spiritual and brotherly assistance in this new mission bestowed on him by God.
The Ordination was also graced by the President Of Uganda His Excellency Yower Kaguta Museveni who thanked the people of Hoima for being patient and said the new Bishop was a blessing from Pope Francis. He also handed out a brand new vehicle to Bishop vincent kirabo to help in his pastoral ministry work.
Bishop Vincent Kirabo was truly thankful and overjoyed by his new mission and pastoral appointment as the new Bishop Of Hoima Catholic Diocese and promised to deliver upon his appointment. Joy was evident among the congregation as the Bishop talked and promised to serve them without fail and asked them to pray for him as he administers his pastoral work.
