Hoima Diocese will lead next year’s Uganda Martyr’s celebrations on June 3rd 2017. They will animate the celebrations on behalf of Mbarara Ecclesiastical Province.
The annual day commemorates the heroic death of the 45 Martyrs who were killed on the orders of Kabaka Mwanga between 1885 and 1887. This day celebrates the lives of those courageous Christians who were not shaken in faith and their faith and legacy has strengthened belief in Christians across the world.
An organizing committee for next year’s celebrations has been constituted by Bishop Vicent Kirabo, the new Bishop of Hoima Diocese. The Bishop appointed Msgr. Matthias Nyakatura as the overall overseer of all the nine committees which are detailed below.

In a statement issued by the Vatican, preparations and organisation is underway and the committe set up has been clearly tasked to make this annual celebration one to savor.
