KEJI- FODA to animate 2024 MEPA Mass at Namugongo

As the Archdiocese of Mbarara Development Association (AMDA) animated this year’s Mass, the candle was handled over to the chairman of Kampala Entebbe Jinja Fort Portal Diocese Association (KEJI-FODA) Counsel John Magezi to animate 2024 MEPA Mass at Uganda Martyrs’ Shrine, Namugongo.

Thousands of Christians from the Mbarara Catholic province always have their annual mass and pilgrimage to Namugongo Uganda Martyrs Shrines in November every year.

MEPA is an association that brings together the dioceses under Mbarara archdiocese, comprising of Hoima, Mbarara, Kasese, Fort Portal and Kabale.

The mass organized under their association Mbarara Ecclesiastical Province Association (MEPA) was celebrated by Archbishop Lambert Bainomugisha with 3 other Bishops. However 2 bishops were absent though well represented, Vicar General, Msgr. Isaiah Mayombo represented the Bishop of Fort portal Diocese and HOIDERA Chaplain Rev. Fr. Aiden Kasujja represented the Bishop of Hoima Diocese.

The Bishop of Fort Portal (Robert Muhirwa) is in India for medication while the Bishop of Hoima (Vincent Kirabo) was disturbed by the flooding of R. Kafu that connects Hoima-Kampala route.

During the Holy Mass, His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha called on the faithful to live to true Christian values of honesty and hard work.

“The Holy Uganda Martyrs, now saints, were common men & relatives to most of us; just that their sacrifice was not a common one, that’s just the simple different to us, hence a challenge and a call to imitate them & chose Death than sin or shame”, His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha

Chief guest Deputy speaker Rt. Hon: Thomas Tayebwa challenged Christians to renew their lives as a good Christian is a good Ugandan because the laws of the government and God are the same.

MEPA Chairman Dr. Patrick Birungi thanked the faithful for turning up in big numbers and asked Christians to pray for the departed souls of the MEPA founders and children of Kasese that were attacked by ADF Rebels.

Hoima Diocese External Residents Association members attended in good numbers and the President Mr. Moses Bigabwa thanked the members for their endless support.

HOIDERA members are called upon to embark on closing the year 2023 with the final mass, the details of which, will be communicated soon by our organizers (the head marrieds, the youth and Bombo Road (SCC)).
