Gayaza Road Small Christian Community win the 2023 games competitions as HOIDERA family close the year in the joyful moments on 3rd Dec 2023 at the hoidera home in Manyagwa Gayaza, Wakiso district.
During the pastoral visit of his Lordship Rev. Bishop Vincent Kirabo Amooti to members of HOIDERA between 15/01/2023 and 22/01/2023, he suggested that members need to be organized in Small Christian Communities (SCCs) for effective mobilization. The proposal was embraced without reservation by the HOIDERA executive and Mr. Andrew Asiimwe was nominated to draft guidelines for its implementation.
The major roads were considered in order to tap into sharing of resources such as transport when coming for HOIDERA activities. The residential parishes of the members were considered in order to ride on the existing structure of the church and to utilize the residential parishes as bases of recruitment and mobilization. Then small Christian communities were formed, which include the following;
Jinja Road Small Christian Community
This covers areas of Jinja road and its tributaries including but not limited to Eastern parts of Gayaza Deanary, Seeta, Mukono, and other areas of Lugazi diocese on Jinja road. The community is headed by Mrs. Josephine Garuhanga.
Gayaza Road Small Christian Community
This covers areas of Gayaza road and its tributaries including but not limited to parts of Gayaza and Kanyanya, Parts of Lugazi diocese along Gayaza-Bugerere road, and parts of Kasana Luweero diocese along Gayaza – Zirobwe road. The community is headed by Eng. Kiggundu Stephen.
Hoima Road Small Christian Community
This covers areas of Hoima road and its tributaries including but not limited to parts of Naddangira Deanery, and parts of Kiyinda Mityana diocese on Hoima road. The community is led by Mr. Barugahara Apollo.
Entebbe, Masaka, Mityana roads Small Christian Community
This covers areas of Entebbe road, Masaka road and Mityana road including parishes of the dioceses of Mityana and Masaka along the same roads. This is under the leadership of Mr. Businge Gerald.
- Kampala Central family Small Christian Community
This covers areas of the city center in the deaneries of Christ the King, Nakulabye, Nagulu and Nsambya including institutions such as Makerere, Kyambogo, MUBS under the leadership of Mrs. Maria Ntale.
- Bombo road Small Christian Community
This covers areas of Bombo road and its tributaries including but not limited to some parts of Ggayaaza Deanery, Nakulabye Deanery and areas of Kasana Luweero diocese along Bombo road. The leadership of the community is yet to be instituted.
During the HOIDERA get-together day of 2023, it was easy to organize different games to be played under small Christians community as HOIDERA family.
Games Competition was based on the groups that were present to participate under the small Christian communities. however Bombo road Christian community didn’t participate due to few numbers residing in the community. Games
to compete in were both indoor and outdoor games
Major indoor games will include;

Major outdoor games will include
➢ Netball
➢ Football
➢ Tag of war
➢ Sack racing
➢ Athletics
➢ Fight for the seat competition
➢ Egg throwing and Egg balancing competition.
➢ Bottle filling
- Bouncing castle for the Children
Gayaza Road Small Christian Community Christian community won everything except sack racing competitions. It had 33pionts as the overall winning points followed by Kampala Central family Small Christian Community with 29 points.
Different individual best players were given gifts at the end of the competitions presented to them by the hoidera president Eng. Mosses Bigabwa and the chairperson organizing committee Eng. Patrick Muleme
