President Barack Obama hailed Pope Francis’ strong message on climate. Addressing journalists at the White House on 18th June, the leader of the United States praised the Pope’s efforts on the call for action on climate change and said the United States should lead efforts to cut down carbon energy emission in the environment.
He said “I welcome His Holiness Pope Francis’s encyclical and deeply admire the pope’s decision to make the case — clearly, powerfully and with the full moral authority of his position — for action on global climate change,”
Pope Francis released an encyclical on climate change and dwells on several climatic issues affecting the world and also called for quick response on the global disaster on emission of toxic gases into the environment.
The Pontiff said rich countries must bear responsibility for creating the problem posed by climate change, and finance a solution.
