Priests in Hoima Catholic Diocese donate blood during the blood donation exercise in the Hoima communications week activities

The Hoima Catholic Diocese is involved in different activities since 15th October 2023 when the social communications week started under the theme “Speaking with the Heart; the truth in love” (Eph. 4, 15).

Among the activities conducted since then, today 20th October the communications team held a blood donation exercise and the medical camp at Radio Maria Hoima, where Hundreds of people have benefited from this free medical camp.

Different services were offered at the one day drive included; free testing for HIV, Blood pressure, Diabetes and cancer. Others were free health consultations and blood donation drive.

The camp was held at the premises of Radio Maria Uganda-Hoima located behind Centenary Bank with the partnership of Bujumbura Health three, Little Hospice Hoima, Uganda Red cross society-Hoima and Uganda Blood Transfusion services.

This is one of the activities to commemorate the belated Social Communication’s Day for Hoima Catholic Diocese after the previous activity of visiting the sick at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital.

Rev. Fr. Museven Patrick Atwooki who is the head of social communications department in the diocese emphasized the fact of safe blood saves life. In addition as he elaborated the statement he encouraged the Christians to eat healthy food so as they can be able to serve the Lord without health issues that will keep them in the hospitals for medication.

On the same day the communications team from Hoima Catholic Diocese visited Hoima prison in Kiryatete, Hoima City.

The climax will be this Sunday 22nd October 2023 with holy mass led by Bishop Vicent Kirabo Amooti at the Bujumbura Cathedral in Hoima City. The climax will be attended by the Chief Guest: Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomusi. Minister of ICT and National Guidance
